Conversion of Letter Grade to Equivalent Percentage Score and other related issues:
The Senate of AcSIR, at its 18th meeting held on 30th November, 2016, has modified rules for award of Distinction marks, effective from 1stDecember, 2016.
The rule for calculating equivalence of grades earned to percentage score and determination of First Class marks remain unchanged:
- Formula for Conversion from CGPA to Percentage:
Percentage = (CGPA – 0.5) * 10
- Introduction of Distinction and First Class Grade at AcSIR:
(i) Distinction: ≥8.00 CGPA**
(ii) First Class: ≥7.00 CGPA
The above rules will be applicable for all batches of students of AcSIR.
** A Distinction will be awarded when all exams with necessary grades must be cleared in a single attempt, without taking recourse of any re-test.
